2. The DAKOTA HAND features a floating cradle design. The cradle may be positioned hydraulically at any level above the ground, allowing the operator to vary the root ball size. The scale on the side of the cradle provides the operator with visual reference to the size root ball he has selected.
3. Once the cradle is positioned around the tree and the root ball size has been determined, a hand-held (electric or hydraulic) breaker drives the guided spades into the ground.
4. After all the spades have been driven, the DAKOTA HAND will hydraulically lift the tree for transplanting or potting.
The ET28 (towable tree spade) has as standard equipment high flotation tires, 1-7/8" ball hitch and a hydraulic power pack with hoses and valve. This spade is not dependent on weight for digging. A 3500 watt portable generator and a Bosch electric breaker are accessory items that must be available to operate the spade. Both items are available through your local supplier or MidDakota Corp. Each transplanter utilizes six heat treated spades. This gives us excellent penetration and wear under all conditions.
The SS28, BM28 and 3PT28 are adaptable to your present equipment; the smallest model skid steer or tractor can accommodate these models. The hydraulic capacity of most small equipment will run the 40 and 45 lbs. Stanley hand-held breaker. Accessory items include two sizes of Stanley breakers and a hydraulic control valve that isolates the spade from the breaker during operation. (This is needed if your equipment has only one remote spool valve.)
